Wedding Spotlight: Liz and Dave

Today I’m sharing a wedding that’s so gorgeous and glamorous in all it’s rustic glory, I don’t even want to talk about it, I just want you to scroll down and see for yourself! Liz and Dave’s wedding day, filled with chic rustic touches including a birch gazebo and wood palette wall, was captured by Kaboo Vang of Kaboo Vang Photography.

The decor was kept chic and rustic, with floral centerpieces, chalkboard signage, family style dining and a brilliant color palette of teal and fuchsia.

From the Bride: We intentionally wanted this to be a party and not have a lot of formality. If I had to pick one favorite memory from our day,  it would probably be the photos before the wedding. Dave and I did an hour of photos and it was just us.

With her stunning  lace gown, Liz looked every inch a Hollywood star as she surprised Dave during their first look (just wait until you see Dave’s face!)

From the Bride: Dave and I met at an event we were both working. I was the coordinator and he was the tour manager for the performer at the event. He took a picture of me and “offered” to tag me on Facebook…30 min after he left the event he sent me a private message. That was it. We’ve been together ever since.

First think you need to know about me is that I’m a control freak. We had started talking about engagement and looking at rings in January (5 months after we met). We actually found the ring on the first day, but kept looking. Of course the biggest obstacle was that the ring we found was at Costco (amazing selection) and he does not have a Costco card. So I had to be there when he bought the ring. So he has the ring in his pocket and I’m over here like “Can I have it now?” We went to dinner and as he’s proposing Faithfully by Journey then Marry Me by Train comes on…. It was non traditional and perfect but us.

Any Advice to those who are planning? Identify 3 really important moments that you want to have at your reception. We have access to so many great ideas and narrowing down what you would like to have and how to make it cohesive can be overwhelming. Pick 3 things that you really want to make a statement. For us it was the wood wall, our dance floor lighting and table décor. Because the colors that we picked were so bold (fuchsia and teal) we had to use them thoughtfully.

Processional: Marry Me for my bridesmaids and first part of Faithfully for myself
Recessional: The last end of Faithfully
First Dance: Come rain or come shine (this was a ridiculously hard choice and we actually didn’t make it until the day before)
