Wedding Spotlight: Crystal and Lee

Crystal+Lee_1077

Crystal and Lee’s wedding reception! I imagine it’s like jumping into a big frothy pile of cotton candy.  (Wait until you see the cake!) All the lovely details from the bride are highlighted beautifully thanks to Ari Simphoukham’s wonderful photographs. Thanks so much to Ari for sharing their photographs.

From the Bride: Our ceremony was a traditional Catholic Wedding held at The Cathedral of the Blessed Sacrament. Our reception was a tented garden reception with a soft-romantic style incorporating sprinkles of a travel theme to the tables and seating chart (places we’ve visited together), as well as lawn games, a hosted bar, a dessert buffet and a cigar bar to entertain our guests. Lee and I met while dancing for a Polynesian dance group – we were partnered up and dated for 10 years before getting engaged. We were cruising around the Caribbean when we got engaged – specifically in Barbados while doing a catamaran tour to snorkel with the sea turtles.Crystal+Lee_0668

Favorite Memory from Wedding Day: Lee (Ceremony) – watching the bride walk down the aisle, (Reception) – the first dance. Crystal (Ceremony) – seeing her father and fiance’s reactions as she walked down the aisle. Crystal (Reception) – seeing all of our family and friends hugging and smiling and laughing together all in one place

Any Advice to those who are Planning? Crystal –  Never lose sight of why you are getting married in the first place. Lee – Listen to your fiancé.

From Crystal:  I always envisioned having a tented garden wedding, which is why we chose your venue. I loved the market lights, the gazebo and the tent. The blank canvas was elegant in itself and left so much room to add our own special touches. We actually fell in love with the venue on our first visit and already knew it was “the one”! The pricing was more than reasonable and the quality of food and assistance from Rebecca and her staff were amazing as well.

We wish you many years of love and happiness in your marriage. Congratulations and best wishes, Crystal and Lee!

Tis the season of holiday party planning! From sit-down corporate holiday dinners to fun Christmas affairs, Haggin Oaks has the perfect venue to treat your friends, family and co-workers to a fabulous holiday event that they are sure to remember.

We are celebrating Christmas early by encouraging our clients to book now for holiday parties in December. We are quickly filling up with reservations.

Why You NEED a Company Holiday Party
As if eggnog and Christmas cookies aren’t good enough reasons, having work parties are beneficial in boosting the entire office’s morale. Giving employees the opportunity to interact in a non-professional setting helps them connect as friends rather than co-workers.Keeping the mood light and steering clear of work-related topics can recharge tired batteries and send the elves back to the workshop the next morning with a jolly attitude.
Whether you’d like to show your co-workers how much they are appreciated or toast in the New Year with friends and family,Haggin Oaks is the premier location for your holiday party this season. With a variety of locations to hold your celebration, a flexible menu that can accommodate any budget and a rental fee that is hard to beat, Haggin Oaks gives you the opportunity to host an elegant event that will surely impress your friends and family.

Our professional staff can make the planning process fun and stress-free.
From weddings and nonprofit events to business dinners, the holiday season is a busy time for venues and guests alike. Planning early ensures that your party is on the top of your guests’ calendar and gives you enough time to make sure every detail of your event is flawless.

Location, location, location

Whether you’re expecting 25 or 300+ people, Haggin Oaks offers a variety of locations perfect for any size holiday party! All venue rentals include 6-hours of time (event can last til 2am!), white resin chairs, floor length table cloths, napkins in your color choice, and an on-site event coordinator and catering staff manager!  Check out our venue spaces below.

10 ways to Feature Herbs in Your Wedding

Fragrant, chic and symbolic, herbs are among the biggest new trends in wedding day florals.

Herbs can make the most lovely table decorations, wedding favors, cake decorations, or bouquet greenery.

Imagine the scent of lavender filling the room as it’s used as confetti, or on the chairs leading down the aisle, or the aroma of a rosemary greeting your guests as they take their seats for dinner.

And along with smelling heavenly, they look beautiful too. Nothing looks more chic and rustic than bundles of lavender dotted about, and sprigs of rosemary look so pretty around a naked wedding cake. They’re also longer lasting than your average greens, which makes them perfect for looking fresh into the wee hours of a wedding.

Check out these 10+ ideas for featuring herbs in your wedding.

Wedding Spotlight: Ashley and Brandon

Haggin Oaks Wedding Photographer Jessica Roman Photography Sacramento Wedding Photographer Bray-498

There is so much pretty in Ashley and Brandon’s June wedding. From the sparkly bridesmaids, who look stunning in their sequined gowns, to the gorgeous florals by Visual Impact Design. I love the combination of the soft toned peach pinks with glittery gold. It’s such a pleasure to share these lovely photos by Jessica Roman Photography with you all today.

From the Bride: Brandon and I met while working at BJs Restaurant in Elk Grove. He was a bartender and I was a host.
After dating for 4 and ½ yrs Brandon FINALLY proposed. He took me to San Francisco for the weekend. We spent the day at the zoo and then went to McCormick and Kuleto’s for dinner. Upon returning to the hotel from dinner I was completely surprised by the romantic transformation of our room. The lights were dimmed, candles everywhere, soft music playing, and roses leading to the window with the most gorgeous view overlooking the city. It was then that Brandon got down on one knee and popped the question.

My favorite memory from our wedding day was hearing my Uncle say “You may kiss the Bride” and then getting to passionately kiss my husband for the first time, with all our loved ones celebrating in the background.

I had 2 favorite details from the wedding. The first was the way our DJ set up the lighting inside the tent. Once the sun set and it got a little darker outside the amber lights gave the tent the most romantic feel. Also, we chose to have a cigar bar during the reception. It was really fun to be able to visit with all our guests in front of the gazebo with a glass of scotch and nice cigar.

My advice to those who are planning a wedding right now would be to START EARLY! The more things you can accomplish beforehand, the better. Also, try not to sweat the small stuff. Things will go wrong. The important thing is that no matter what happens, at the end of the day you will still be married- and that was the whole point in the first place.

Haggin Oaks Wedding Photographer Jessica Roman Photography Sacramento Wedding Photographer Bray-488

I always wanted to have our reception under a tent. One of my bridesmaids suggested we check out Haggin Oaks. She said she had her sorority formal there one year and it was beautiful. Sure enough, we made an appointment to see it and fell in love.

Ya know how they say when you try on wedding dresses “you’ll just know” when it’s the one? I personally didn’t feel that way about my dress (it was a very difficult decision) but that’s exactly how I felt about the venue. Therefore, I would say, trust your instinct.

Congratulations you two and Best Wishes!

Cobalt and Peach Wedding Inspiration

Looking for a color palette that is modern but still feminine? Look no further. You’re going to love this cobalt and  peach wedding inspiration. The richest shade of blue, cobalt is for those who want to make a statement.  It’s bold, attention-grabbing, and absolutely perfect for that bride who wants to turn heads.  Add pops of peach and classic white for a look that is softer and more subtle – the perfect combination of cosmopolitan and girly.  Imagine clean white linens, cobalt blue water goblets, Parisian-inspired china, and even fresh peaches decorating your tablescape.  You’ll have countless peach and white floral options too, which would look utterly amazing against striking cobalt blue bridesmaids dresses.  If you’d like a few more options, throw in navy, dusty cornflower blue, and even coral for a healthy dose of color.  Either way, a cobalt, peach, and white wedding color palette is sure to wow both pastel and jewel tone lovers alike!
